Southern Region Summer Tournament June 2008

On 29th June a number of our gymnasts took part in the Summer Tournament at Milton Keynes. We had a very good day with a number of medal places. Also this competition includes a team event and after a very close contest we won the Novice Team shield (includes Prep A and Prep B levels). All who were part of this team will get the chance to keep the shield for about a month during the year.

Sports Acrobatics National Finals May 2008

We took 2 tumblers and a pair to represent the South of England at this year's National Finals in Stoke. Natalie and Olivia performed their routine superbly and finished a very respectable 9th in Great Britain in a very strong category. In his first national final Archie did very well to finish 4th (just outside the medals). After missing much of her training in the run-up to the finals through an ankle injury Katie did well to finished 12th in her category.

Inter-Regional Finals May 2008

We had a number of gymnasts representing the South of England against the South East and South West at Southampton recently. We had a very successful day and were really pleased with how they all performed. As well as the medal successes our gymnasts scores counted towards the team score which resulted in the South of England winning the team trophy.

Annual Club Championship March 2008

This competition is aimed for those gymnasts in the development group, together with any other competition squad gymnasts who have not yet entered a Regional competition. Once again we had a really enjoyable competition and all the gymnasts performed really well. We hope they enjoyed their day and thank you to all those people who supported or helped run the event. As usual we divided the competition into school year groups.

Southern Region National Preliminaries March 2008

We had a successful day at this event and we were extremely pleased with how all our gymnasts performed. At the end of the day we qualified 2 tumblers (Archie and Katie) and a pair (Natalie and Olivia who achieved a stunning score of 27.45 to win Level 1) to represent the South of England at this years National Finals at Stoke in May.

Southern Region Qualifiers March 2008

This event was to select the team to represent the South of England at the Inter-Regional competition. Those competitors placed in the first three places now go forward to this event in May. Congratulations to all of them.
