As always this was a really enjoyable afternoon with a very good standard throughout the competition. This competition is also a team competition and at the end we retained the team trophy from Sapphire by the narrow margin of 170.47 points against 169.3.

Southern Region Summer Tournament June 2009

On 28th June four of our gymnasts took part in the Summer Tournament at Andover. We had a very good day with both of our pairs achieving medal positions.

Sports Acrobatics NDP National Finals May 2009

We took 3 tumblers, 2 trios and a pair to represent the South of England at this year's National Finals in Stoke. All of them performed really well and were a credit to the club throughout the whole weekend. The highlight of the weekend was Archie taking a silver medal at Elite 2 tumbling. A particular mention must go to Louise Mackett who announced her retirement from competitve gymnastics after this event. Her first appearance at a National final was 16 years ago - it is an amazing achievement to have stayed competing at such a high level for this length of time.

Inter-Regional Finals April 2009

A large number of gymnasts qualified to represent the South of England against the South East, the South West, the West Midlands and London. We had a very successful day and were really pleased with how they all performed. As well as the three gold medal successes all our gymnasts scores counted towards the team score which resulted in the South of England retaining the team trophy.

Southern Region National Preliminaries February 2009

We had our best set of results since 2006 at the qualifiers for the NDP National finals. To qualify for the finals the gymnasts had to be placed first in their category. At the end of the competition we qualified two trios (Emily, Lucy, Jennie and Geri, Louise, Ellie) and a pair (Marissa, Rosie) who join three elite grade tumblers (Archie, Lizzie, Lauren) who have direct entry to the finals to be held in Stoke in May. In addition many other gymnasts achieved medal winning positions.

Southern Region Championships (Part 1) November 2008

Due to the changes in competition grades, this year's Regional Championships was split into two weekends with the main part to be held in December. This part included elite and FIG levels only. We had two tumblers who competed at Elite level (unfortunately Archie was ill and could not take part). Both tumblers took gold medals!

Southern Region Summer Tournament June 2008

On 29th June a number of our gymnasts took part in the Summer Tournament at Milton Keynes. We had a very good day with a number of medal places. Also this competition includes a team event and after a very close contest we won the Novice Team shield (includes Prep A and Prep B levels). All who were part of this team will get the chance to keep the shield for about a month during the year.

Sports Acrobatics National Finals May 2008

We took 2 tumblers and a pair to represent the South of England at this year's National Finals in Stoke. Natalie and Olivia performed their routine superbly and finished a very respectable 9th in Great Britain in a very strong category. In his first national final Archie did very well to finish 4th (just outside the medals). After missing much of her training in the run-up to the finals through an ankle injury Katie did well to finished 12th in her category.
