Song and Dance 2011 - Kings Theatre 4th September
Phoenix acro has been asked to take part in the above event. It is a charity fundraising event featuring the best of Portsmouth's local professional and community talent. 10 of our gymnasts will be performing a group routine which we are sure will be well received. It is a great opportunity to show a wider audience some acrobatic gymnastics in what is sure to be an exciting evening. (Full details / tickets are available on www.kings-southsea.com )
Annual Club Gala July 2011
Our annual club gala was held at the Portsmouth Gymnastics Centre on 2nd July. It was a great evening with nearly all the club members being able to take part in the event. As always it was a mix of Sports Acrobatics pair and trio routines together with a large number of group routines. Many people commented on how impressive the performances were. Many thanks to all who contributed to the success of the evening which raised about £1000 for club funds.
We also announced our new Club Captain - Lizzie Williams, and our new Junior Club Captain - Chantel Turner. We wish them every success and are confident they will carry on the good work of last year's Captains - Imogen Berryman, Lucy Riddle and Emily Mason-Callaway.
Inter-Regional Finals April 2011
Many of our gymnasts qualified to represent the South of England against the South West, the West Midlands and London. We had a very successful day with three partnerships gaining gold medal positions. The South team also won the team trophy - well done to all who took part. (Full details - see results)
